Home Staging and Interior Design are somewhat similar, and they are definitely related to each other, but they are not the same.  Although Million Dollar Stagers is primarily a Home & Commercial Property Staging & Real Estate Merchandising company, we also offer Interior Design to anyone who needs those services.  We have several members on our team who are professional Interior Designers, who have attended Interior Design school, who have college degrees in this field, and who are very experienced & extremely talented.  If you have Interior Design needs, we are well positioned to take on your project and we would be absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity work with you.  We are not just Million Dollar Stagers, we are also Million Dollar Designers!

Differences Between Staging and Interior Design:  Staging, and Interior Design share several of the same attributes.  Both require a great sense of design, a flair for visualizing space and layout, an eye for color, and a huge amount of inborn talent!  But Home Staging & Real Estate Merchandising demands a solid understanding of the real estate industry, marketing, merchandising, and even sales.  Interior Designers aren't concerned with these things.  In Staging & Merchandising, the ultimate focus is to sell a commodity (the property), and everything that we do as stagers and merchandisers is geared toward that goal.  When we stage a home, the target client that we are working to please is the potential buyer.  But in Interior Design - it's all different.  In Interior Design, it's all about you, your family, the people who are living in the space, and no one else!  As Interior Designers, we are working to please your tastes, to transform your living environment into a warm and pleasing, wonderful place where you can feel comfortable and "at home" in your own space.  As Interior Designers, we have no concerns about selling the home, and we do not have to worry about whether the home will appeal to any special demographic.  There are no marketing or merchandising considerations, and the only strategy that we have to deal with is what pleases you the most, what it takes to make your home beautiful in your eyes, and what makes you feel the best in your home.  Interior Design really IS, all about you.

How We Work - Getting Started:  just as in Home Staging, we are professional decorators and we know what it takes to make a home look Absolutely Beautiful And Stunning!  We can definitely do this for you, but, again, in this scenario your wishes are our commands.  The way we work when we take on an Interior Design project is different then with staging.  Instead of accessing your home as a marketable commodity, and beginning the process by strategizing how to make your home more presentable to the public, we take some time to get to know you, to learn about your tastes, and to learn about what it takes to make you feel good.  We take some time to learn a little about your personality and your personal lifestyle, and we ask you questions that will give us insight and perspective so we can personalize our services to your tastes.  In Interior Design, it's not about "depersonalizing", it's about "personalizing".  Really, in many ways, we are doing the exact opposite than if we were staging your home to sell it.  We will still do a walk-through evaluation of your home, and we will take lots of photos to help us in the planning process back at the office, but we will be doing our evaluation with completely different eyes, and with a different mindset, as opposed to if we were staging your home.  Our plan will be to consult and communicate with you at every step of the design & implementation process.  From a professional point of view, we will make suggestions and work with you to make choices that will fit your personal vision.

Additional Help:  Once a plan is in place, depending on exactly what needs to be done, we may, on your behalf, sub-contract out and bring in additional people to help.  For example, if any kind of major painting or carpentry work is needed, then licensed contractors are required and this will definitely be included in the plan of action.  If cleaning is needed, or if heavy items need to be moved, we may need helpers for that as well.  Whatever needs to be done on this level will be taken care of now.

Shopping & Pulling Together Furnishings:  Next, we will hit the stores and start shopping.  Shopping is an exciting time for us, and it's a lot of fun, because every home and every project is different and unique.  It gives us great joy and pleasure to present to you the many new furnishings and finds that we are able to pull together to decorate your home.  This is an exciting time for you too, because this is when you begin to see all the beautiful new furniture, accessories and pieces of art arriving - it's the start of the transformation process.  This phase of the work may span across several days.  Just like staging, our philosophy is that we prefer to take the time to let the creative juices flow and to do the job right.  Sometimes it takes a little time to pull together everything that we need, and to discover and find just the right furnishings.  Also, often times we need to make some of our own creations!

Decorating Your Home:  Now that all of your new furnishings have arrived, we are all set to start the actual decorating.  Depending on your situation, we will either be working with all new furnishings, or a combination of what you already have, plus the new things that we have brought in.  We will go through your entire home.  Working with you, we will move, position and arrange everything so it's in the proper place and looks and feels just right.  We'll take care of the furniture, the art work, plants, and we will completely accessorize your new living spaces.  When we are finished, we want everything to look and feel perfect and beautiful!  

For Vacation Rentals:  Our Interior Design Services are also available to owners of Vacation Rentals, who need to either decorate and furnish for the first time, or who want to re-decorate and replace existing and worn out, outdated furnishings.
